This fantastic Wednesday night show at Pehrspace was the noise-lover’s alternative to the hyped Lightning Bolt show happening on Downtown on Alameda.

The Pehr show was super fun ‘cuz I got to DJ!!!!!!

The audience was so AMPED … I had a great time spinning records and helping out.

Thank-you to Michael for the night of gainful employment and AWESOME noise music!

Club Ding-a-ling is becoming a Tuesday night tradition for me.

Once again, the Xenia and Peter from the group Laco$te and I headed over to the Hyperion Tavern where much beer was consumed and there was great music, conversation, and dancing all around.

The star of the night was Don Bolles, who recently spent a few days in the OC lock-up after being busted for hemp oil soap. More on this story as it develops, but I think the OC authorities have a lot of ’splainin’ to do. I hope that Bolles nails them in court (or gets a big settlement).

I was relaxing so I didn’t take too many photos. Anyhow, a few highlights below.

This past Monday night, Anavan hosted part 2 of their month-long curation of my Pehr Space concert series.

They call it “APE RULES!”

Well, the APE part really came out this week—figuratively AND literally!!!!

This was the best party EVER and I had so much fun.

Dozens competed for the AMERICA’S NEXT TOP KAZOOIST crown. Mabson won, but it was a close call, for sure.

I never knew LA. had so many talented kazoo players!

I had been trying to book TV Sheriff & the Trail Buddies for years. Anavan finally lassoed them and they were AMAZING. The Sheriff had a ton of new video mash-ups and everyone was grooving to his crazy music.

Atole from Portland was a trio this night, and they seared my mind with their psychedelic look and ominous soul sound.

The Lunar Project had live video manipulation and incredible, soaring spacenoise.

Bon Voyage got things started with their novel electronic singalongs. These two gals are ex-Faux For Real, and you really gotta check them out.

Also, big BIG props to DJ KYle, Darren & Adam & Andrew & Pehr Space, everyone who came to the show and made it so fun, and of course Richmond for the wrist bands.

DON’T MISS THIS MONDAY, APRIL 16TH!!! Anavan is back with APE RULES, PART III—they are playing their entire self-titled GSL album for your listening pleasure.

The other bands are some of the best you will ever hope to see: This Song Is A Mess But So Am I, Clan Of The Cave Bear (my homies from Cleveland—the first friends from “back home” to visit me here and play a Monday Night! They rule!!), Sea Org (yes!) & Dommm (double yes!).

Start time is 9:30pm, admission is $5. The show is all-ages.

Pehr Space is located at 325 Glendale Blvd. in Echo Park.
