NEW MONDAY PIX: FOOT FOOT, TWO SHEDS, CHUFF CHUFF, ROLLTOP LOYS, DEVRA & JESSICA DEPART FOR SCHOOL AND MORE!!!!

This was among the best Foot Foot shows I have ever heard. The band was at their most assured and they were also amazingly quiet! They really showed off their new and old songs. It was marvelous!

Chuff Chuff are old friends and it was great to hear them jam Monday Night again!! This time, they were a progressive free-jazz guitar/drums combo. Hot!

The Rolltop Loys and Two Sheds were spectacular, and I think a lot of people got turned on to some great new music this night.

The night was also a bit sad, as two of my favorite people—Devra and Jessica—were preparing to move away for school. Devra’s going to Chicago, and Jessica’s attending the New School in NYC. They will be missed!!

TOTALLY GAY PHOTOS: CLUB OUTRE BIRTHDAY BASH FOR RUDY BLEU, WITH DJ JEREMY SCOTT & MORE AT PEHR!!!

Club Outre is the coolest, funnest underground gay gathering in Los Angeles. Co-founders Rudy Bleu and Cody Wayne host this awesomely sexy dance party once a month at Pehrspace.

This time, it was a celebration of Rudy’s birthday, and he got some really cool guest DJs like Daniel Pineda from laco$te and even avant-garde fashion designer, Jeremy Scott!

Richmond and I had such a wonderful time. I’m already looking forward to the next one!!!

MONDAY NIGHT MEANS THE BEST NEW MUSIC: PHOTOS OF FOOT FOOT, EX-PETS, LUCKY DRAGONS, SOCIAL JUNK, & FLASPAR AT PEHRSPACE!!!!

This was a crazy crazy show and I dunno if my DJ’ing with Kyle’s iPod was a success. Then, I forgot to snap photos of Flaspar. D’oh! (No offense, guys. Your music’s great. I’ll update this post with Flaspar photos from Dalton, if I can get them.) Not my finest hour.

In any case, let me just say THANK YOU to Foot Foot (flawless playing…awesome new songs… pure magic!), Lucky Dragons (the crowd pleaser of the night… a totally new approach to music… are these two not incredible?), Ex-Pets (heavy bludgeoning that was brutally short and breathtaking!), Social Junk (wow—noise is turning in some rad new directions!), and Flaspar (tight beats and great songs!). It was an honor to present music by all these supremely creative men and women.

This Monday is gonna be an amazing party… check out the bands listed below. Pehrspace is the place to be!

PORN STAR PIX: THUGPORN LEGEND TIGER TYSON AT COCKTAILS WITH THE STARS!!!

Underground rock, except for four years in the mid-90′s, does not pay my bills. That’s okay. I’m fortunate enough to work as an editor in the publishing industry by day. Lately, that has meant Specialty Publications’ Men/Freshmen/[2]/and Unzipped Magazines. They are the top-selling gay porn in the world. They are kinda soft, but that’s okay, too. I used to work at Hustler which was political and hard-core, but it was also high-stress and depressing. Now I work with some supremely nice and creative guys and I’m happy.

I’m working on two new features for Unzipped: “thugporn” and “celebrity dildos.”

Tiger Tyson is gonna be in both.

Tiger is amazing—handsome, funny, ridiculously well-endowed, genius, HOT. He was in the first slew of porn mags I bought back when I was a kid, so it’s amazing he’s still around today. He’s a real hustler and a survivor. He still looks great. (He says he’s 25, but he’s gotta be my age or older.)

He’s also more popular than ever before, thanks to his new company, Pitbull Productions. He’s become a director and businessman, in addition to a performer, so he’s really made it.

This past week, he was in L.A. from his home base in East Harlem. I photographed him being molded for a celebrity dildo (photos soon!) and hung with him for an afternoon downtown.

Tiger also appeared at Mickey’s in West Hollywood, where he was interviewed for their Cocktails with the Stars web TV program.

Weho gay bars are kinda grim and depressing to me. They are the gay equivalent of those drink-till-ya-puke-or-hook-up riverside saloons in the Cleveland Flats that used to gross me out. Whatever. To each his own.

However, Tiger is so charismatic, he lit up dreary old Mickey’s and it actually was fun for a few hours. Richmond and Justin from Unzipped accompanied me—it was really fun to hang out with both of them in this ultra gay context!
