One of teh best parts of being involved with Pehrspace these last ten months is getting to see and hear how excellent bands operate, like Anchors for Architects. I’ve seen their shows, heard them practice… They’re the real deal! Like everything I like about bands like Can and also post-’90s indie rock mixed together with great songwriting and playing.

And they played their final show in December!

Anchors for Arhitects had a great long run and won a lot of fans.

All the players in Anchors have new bands, and I’m definitely excited to hear what they do next.

Thank you everyone who supported the Saturday night benefit for Brian from Child Pornography. We raised almost $300, which coupled with other upcoming fundraisers, will hopefully help him out with his insane medical bills. Brizzah actually came down and visited the proceedings, and it was great to see him. The bands were great, too!!

I’m making a new movie—”FRIENDS IN OTHER DIMENSIONS”—the last weekend of September. It’s about how bands and fans form a complex network of friends. It is written by Andrew of the 14 Year Old Girls, and Bret Berg, and is to be released by the label Retard Disco next year. It stars 25 of L.A.’s best underground bands.

I need all the help I can get with this project!!

And you can contribute with your art, acting and organizational skills.

Each Monday in September, we will be meeting and building costumes and sets. We will have a band or two from the movie and a guest DJ.

Admission is $5 and the building starts at 8pm. Music is at 11pm.

No tools are necessary—just please come down and discuss and craft with us!!!

THAT WAS A GREAT SHOW LAST NIGHT! Pehrspace is the place to be ;)

Thank you to everyone who came to the show. The audience made the night! Pehr was packed and everyone was dancing.

Speaking of Pehr… Adam, Darren and Andrew are truly awesome. Andrew even made programs for the evening. I hope you were lucky enough to get one (he had two awesome zines, also).

Anchors For Architects were sublime. As regular readers may know, I love Amon Duul 2 (esp. “Phallus Dei” i.e. God’s dick) and Polvo, so the AFA sound really rocked me.

Late Severa Wires were equally amazing. Free rock! People are already recognizing them for the all-time classic group they are.

Same goes for Clipd Beaks: classic! They are a total rock BAND, working together to get the music and the crowding to the brink of chaos.

Anavan writes great dance songs …and you can sing along while the trio smashes those same songs into oblivion! YOWZA!! Anavan was on fire, everybody had a great time, and we are going to do it all again on Monday, so don’t miss it!
