Below are photos from the phenomenal Anavan show this past Monday! I am off to NYC in just a couple of hours, so I will write more later… But astute observers will notice that the Voodoo Organist is not in the pics below. That’s because he’s in the hospital, and in pretty serious condition. I hope he gets better soon. Everyone at the show this past Monday night missed him terribly and we all wish Scott a speedy recovery.

Special thanks to all the performers (I even got in on the act… cccrazy!), especially Mitchell Brown who came through in a big way (once again).

I (almost) finished painting the whole floor at Pehrspace on Monday. When I got done, I headed down to the Smell for a killer show that Kyle Mabson hosted featuring Anavan and Attractive & Popular, among others.

Both bands sounded THE BEST EVER! A&P lost their bass player right before the show and they sounded killer with just keys/vocals/guitar/drums (sorry, Mr. Bassman). I hope they continue their bass-less configuratioon, because it gave the instruments more room to breathe and they were just fierce—like Arab On Radar with keyboards…. very nice!

Anavan were on fire…. and so was the crowd—it was hot as fuck in the Smell. Ewww. Anyhow, enjoy the photos—and don’t forget Sean Carnage Mondays resume at Pehrspace next week, July 23rd.

Thank you to everyone who came to my “Monday on a Wednesday” holiday party at Il Corral! It was great to see so many friends. Sadly, Aaron from Anavan’s grandma died and Anavan was not able to perform. Our hearts are with Aaron. Anavan is playing Il Corral again soon so watch for that.

Despite this set-back, we had an AWESOME show.

Oouh was fantastic and really got people in the mood to party.

Attractive & Popular were back for their third appearance at Il Corral. I love these guys (and gal).

Last-up was MY new band with Bret Berg, Fred from Explogasm, the inimitable Paul Wilkins and my longtime collaborator, Drumulator.

Our name: COCKWIND!!!

We jammed the following Hawkwind/Robert Calvert tracks: Sonic Attack, The Right Stuff, Born To Go, Ten Seconds Of Forever, Orgone Accumulator and Damnation Alley.

This was the first rock band I have done since Razak Solar System and the very first band I have ever sung in front of! Fuck, was I nervous.

But things went off perfectly. Special shout-out to Fred who created some amazing images.

Look out—Cockwind is ready for takeoff… we are gonna play a completely new set of spacenoise favorites for each show so watch for more soon!!!
