Last Monday at Women was a brilliant success thanks to you, my music loving friends.
This Monday, Kyle and I are taking you to the Smell in beautiful Downtown Los Angeles.
I’m really excited about the music. It’s the Cochina after party (http://www.myspace.com/prerock) and John Thill is making a rare appearance in SoCal. Don’t miss his brilliant and bizarre songs!
About the other performers:
Serows in an insane metal band from Tucson. Stellaluna will be playing her incisive acoustic creations. American Gil is perhaps L.A.’s best rock band right now. Tuneful, intense, bizarre… they sound like classic Pere Ubu and look like Saturday morning cartoons. Perfect? You bet.
Speaking of perfection, my friend and inspiration, Beckett Warren, will be in town from Ohio. Beckett is a bit of a genius…Beckett’s music is playful, bright, shocking, and sometimes raunchy. I’m excited to see him and introduce him to you, because he’s been a big part of my life.
Thanks again to the bands who played this past Monday, all at Women, and Kyle Mabson. There’s no new news RE: the Pehr situation, but hopefully there will be soon.
